The underlying attitude of Thanksgiving can be overshadowed by the delicious feast most people partake of. Expressing gratitude can be the best part of Thanksgiving, so we’ve decided to share with you some ways you can give thanks. This week’s Arrive LEX Blog post will include a short list of ways you can express your gratitude to the people who have had a profound effect on your life.
Thank You Notes
If you’re looking for a small gesture to express your gratitude, look no further than writing some thank you notes. These notes don’t have to be grand, but as you make them personal and concise, they will have a profound impact on the recipient. Address the recipient by name and thank them for a specific thing or write a positive note on there to make their day.
Volunteer
Sometimes the best way of expressing your gratitude is by giving back to the community and blessing the lives of others. Since it’s the month of Thanksgiving, there are opportunities to volunteer at food banks or soup kitchens. Volunteering is a great practice in reaching out to others that may not be as fortunate as you are and it can help you be more grateful for the small blessings in your life.
Give Small Gifts
If writing small thank you notes or letters isn’t your preferred mode of giving thanks, you can show your friends or friends you care about them by giving them a small gift. If the idea behind your gift is thanks, we suggest keeping it small. Take the time to think of a gift the recipient may like and do your best to obtain it. If at all possible, deliver the gift in person, and if you so desire, write a short note.
Expressing gratitude can be difficult for some, but we hope these suggestions help. If you have any other suggestions, leave a comment for our Chicago, IL apartment community so we can try them out!
